About the Author
Josh’s Journey

Josh Martin is no stranger to interactive storytelling. Since 1999, Martin has been connecting readers with the storytelling process in new and engaging ways.

1999 – Silent Cell 12 – Martin’s first foray into the world of interactive serial novels was an email-based tale of adventure and intrigue. Each week readers would vote on one of three options for how they wanted the story to continue.

2001 – From Zero to Hens and Chickens – Stepping out of the virtual world and into the real world, Josh Martin wrote a collection of stories inspired by, and set in, a real-life community in Ontario, Canada. By weaving the people and places of the Georgian Bay area into his book, Martin published a book that truly connected the reader to the writing. As a token of his appreciation for the community’s contribution to the book, 50% of the book's profits were donated to a local charitable organization.

2005 – Murkworld – Over 75 public libraries and schools across Canada joined in promoting and participating in Martin’s next major literary endeavour – Murkworld. With individual characters representing specific communities all across the country, readers were able to participate through online voting to influence their character’s fate in the story.

2007 – Pocket-change Parade – With an ever-growing readership, Martin is launching his latest plot party on World Literacy Day, September 8th. With more ways to engage and interact in the story than ever before, Pocket-change Parade allows readers to vote on plot developments, submit their own versions of how they think chapters should unfold, and use message boards and other online communication tools to connect with other readers from around the world.

Since he won 1st prize in Grade 1 in the Dungannon Fall Fair’s short story contest, Josh Martin hasn’t put the pen down. Click here to contact Josh Martin for more information.
